Teshuvah: The Return to YHVH!
Written by Lee Blue

Here I am, sitting in front of my computer – AGAIN – to write my blog for the month of September, and I’ve got nothing! When I am out and about, I think of all the things I could share, and the testimonies that flow from my life solely because of YHVH’s faithfulness – but sitting here, there is a wall. Writer’s block is a thing! My first draft didn’t capture it - whatever “IT” was supposed to be. So, I’m staring over…
Unlike Michael Harwick's blog in July who had simply been putting off writing “for no good reason,” that was not my story. Life hit fast and furious with crushing and overwhelming circumstances beginning with my dad’s passing. The weeks blurred together with no stopping of the clock’s relentless circuits. Before I knew it each day was gone, my blog undone. An uninvited entity made an appearance. “Pressure-to-Produce” knocked loudly. And I let it in…
In the midst of that unwanted weight, one question kept rising: “Father, what do I write about?” I stared at the September “Words” again on the iConverge calendar, the big ones: Birthing; Promotion; Establishment. Out loud I ask, WHAT is being birthed? WHERE is there promotion? HOW is there establishment, in my life?
Crickets!
Suddenly, I see “it” - not in the big words, but in the fine print! “Identity secured.” “The King is in the field.” “Pressure-to-Produce” melts like the wicked witch of the west in Dorothy’s OZ! My focus narrows. Yeshua is in my sights again! My ears unlock.
Of course! It is that season! It echoes through me now, over and over: the King is in the field…the King is in the field…the King is in the field, reverberating, persistently requesting attention.
Understanding dawns that all my “blowing” has opened this up, opened me up! Every sunset since August 14th - the first day of the Biblical month of Elul - I have blown my shofar! Daily, I “blow” over myself, and those I love. This is the season to hear!
"Blow the shofar in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants
of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at hand.” Joel 2:1
For millennia during Elul the four different shofar blasts have ascended and descended the vav: I am the vav, you are the vav - the 6th Living letter in the Hebrew Alephbeit - the number of man. I reach from earth to heaven with my sound that cries out, “Ears, open!” It has become clearer each day that I do not blow alone! Heaven’s vav’s from the Cloud of Witnesses have surrounded me, and together we marvel and stand amazed that the King willingly laid aside His royal robes to walk as one of us, making a way for us all to return to Him!
"He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, and became human. Philippians 2: 6-7, The Message
Thus says YHVH of hosts, “Return to Me…and I will return to you…” Zechariah 1:3.
As I write, His Presence beckons. I take a break and *teshuvah! I bow low and turn away from my stress and all the exterior and interior distractions that obscure Him, and return to my Father! My King has come into my field to draw me back to Himself, to draw me back to YHVH. My repentance is so much more than just changing the way I think! I strive again to enter His rest! I turn into Him getting nose-to-nose, receiving His breath as He receives mine! I experience Oneness. I have returned. Selah.
“Pressure-to-Produce” has been displaced by, “Rest-In-Him.” I am reminded again that “Resting in Him” is not, NOT doing stuff’; it's doing“ all the stuff” while being interiorly undisturbed!
And so, through the process of writing my blog, I have gratefully been established again upon my solid Foundation, experiencing again my identity secured in Messiah! In first seeing the “fine print,” I know the “big words” are relevant! What is promotion anyway? It is for Him to decide and it may not look like what we expect! When I began, I didn’t need a writing idea, I needed a return!
Your King is in your field!
Want to join me? There are 11 more days until Elul gives way to Tishrei - the month Yeshua came as a babe, to HIS field!
Tekiah A single, long, unbroken blast. The wakeup call calling the soul to attention,
stripping away daily distraction.
Shevarim Three medium-length, broken blasts. The weeping, owning our mistakes.
Teruah Nine rapid, staccato bursts. A spiritual alarm clock meant to shatter
complacency, break down emotional barriers, and spark teshuvah.
Tekiah Gedolah The "great tekiah". The final, elongated blast announcing triumph over
spiritual brokenness, symbolizing the ability to hold onto focus with clarity and stay
strong in our commitments, and secure on our Foundation.
PROPHETIC THEME
Birthing. Promotion. Establishment. September is a month to reveal, influence and promotion. What has been forming throughout the year comes forth. Identity is secured, growth visible, and advancement takes place. What is born is solid, grounded and built to last. Boldness. The King is in the field.
CHALLENGE
In what way do you need to return (*teshuvah) to YHVH? What needs to be birthed in you? What aspect of your personhood do you need to have promoted from a lower earthly state of being to an inner heavenly perspective? What would you like to have established in your life?
*Teshuvah (repent) from the Hebrew root, “shuv” שׁוּבmeans, “to return.” The mystical meaning of the three Hebrew letters, shin, vav, beit, can be seen as “the fire has been reconnected to the house!” It takes the person (the vav) to stand between the Spirit (fire) and the house (His body) to bring heaven and earth together!
