A Time to Shift & Align to His Order

I love stories that carry a message and give hope and inspiration. Jesus used parables to teach great lessons. We, too, have our stories, and within each one there is often a special lesson or message that can help others.

Before we got married, my husband, Norm, and I had a supernatural encounter with Jesus. We became saved, born again and we knew his voice. As newlyweds, Norm, a U.S. Army soldier, received orders for a one-year tour in South Korea. I was ready to follow him but Norm explained that his orders were for a “lone” tour—no spouses allowed.

He left for South Korea, and I prayed. The Lord arranged for me to join him and we lived in the village of Dongducheon, South Korea, twelve miles from the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), a most heavily guarded border. We didn’t have much, but we had God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and our Bibles and He spoke to us.

I think of Abraham and Sarah. Abraham received the call but Sarah went with him to a place they did not know. We, too, were in a foreign land. We didn’t know the culture, the people, or the language. Like Sarah, I followed my husband, my Abram, to South Korea even though the Army said No. Once together, we felt the assurance of being at rest, in order and our balance was restored. We were together and at rest.

I was pregnant with our first child, and somehow, I knew I would give birth on October 27. At exactly 12:01 a.m., my labor pains began. The Korean Army had a strict military 11:00 p.m. curfew. Armed soldiers patrolled the village with rifles ready to arrest those who defied their law. At 12:05, Norm ran under the cover of darkness through the dark alleys of our town to the Christian Servicemen’s Home to call an ambulance. They had a telephone. The ambulance came, and I was medevacked to a military base hospital by helicopter to Yongsan Hospital in Seoul. Our daughter, Michelle, was born on October 27 three hours later. The Lord kept us safe through what seemed dangerous and impossible.

In October 1999, we had another shift. The Lord told us to move from Florida to Colorado. I was comfortable and loved my job, But, I often grumbled to the Lord: “All I do is work.” Once we moved and adjusted in our new home, we found peace and rest. His voice has been paramount in the way we order our lives. It has sustained us and strengthened us. We are blessed because we followed his guidance knowing full well that his plans for us were better than any we could make for ourselves. Romans 8:28 has been one of our lives’ scriptures “And we know that all things work for good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Hearing and obeying his voice him is crucial to shifting into his new order of rest and balance.

In both of these experiences, October provided life-changing shifts for us - first with Michelle’s birth in a foreign country and later with our lifestyle. I believe He spoke to us

because we knew his voice, we were in his will, in his alignment and in his plans. We heard him and trusted him because He always goes before us.

PROPHETIC THEME

October emphasizes balance and rest and order increases. The weary and heavy laden are being drawn into the rest of Christ, and the cares that have burdened the heart are being released into His hands because He cares for us. As truth is established, freedom comes, for knowing the truth brings us into a new measure of liberty. Governance aligns properly, bringing peace, correction without shame, and clarity, as the One who holds the government upon His shoulders establishes order and gives wisdom, changing times and seasons according to His purposes. Healing replaces distortion as the mind is renewed, allowing what has been misaligned to come back into right perspective. What appeared dry, lifeless, or beyond recovery is not beyond redemption. The dry bones are being called back to life, and what seemed lost is being restored. October carries the movement of balance, redemption, governance, and an embrace of truth and flexibility - where rest replaces striving, truth replaces distortion, order replaces confusion, and life rises again where there was once only evidence of death.

October brings changing weather, beautiful foliage, cooler temperatures, and a shift into a new season. Summer vacations end, children return to routine, and farmers gather their harvest before the first frost.

These prophetic words here speak of balance, rest, truth, healing, and renewed order. I add alignment. When we align to his plumb line, our lives are ordered and we commit to his plans. Balance is restored and we enter into His rest. When we hear his voice, we have clarity. We heal. Our lives, once shifted, are transformed because we are truly in his plans.

“Peace is often the evidence that alignment and balance have been restored.”

INVITATION

Does this word speak to you?

Perhaps October is an invitation to examine what is aligned and balanced in your life—and what is not.

God’s standard asks that we participate with Him, walk according to His Word, purposes, and plans. We lose our balance when we are out of order, Order is restored and rest follows when we are in balance.

Is there a burden you need to release? Is there something which needs alignment? A truth you need to embrace? Is there something that needs to come to life again, are there dry bones in your life?

A farmer knows when to sow, plant, tend, wait, and harvest. As mature sons and daughters of God we also see the shifting seasons and we respond to what He wants. Today, hear his voice. It will bring you peace and order, balance and alignment.

Are You ready for a Shift?

October offers an invitation to release unnecessary burdens, embrace truth, receive healing, restore order, and rediscover rest.

PRAYER

May this October be a season in which your heart finds fresh alignment, balance, order and peace with the Father’s heart.

May every burden not meant for you to carry be lifted, every place of confusion bring truth, and every dry place be refreshed by His Spirit.

May His peace govern your heart, His wisdom direct your steps, and His love overflow through your life. May you recognize the season, hear His voice clearly, and have the courage to follow wherever He leads, knowing that He is already there. May we have clarity in our lives and revealed truth.

Amen

I ask Lord that you teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Ps. 90:12:

In Yeshuah’s name.
