Phillippians 1:6 KJV "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

Lyrics from Michael Jackson’s song – “Man in the Mirror”

I’m starting with the man in the mirror

I’m asking him to change his ways

And no message could have been any clearer

If you wanna make the world a better place

Take a look at yourself and then make a change

Remember one of the characteristics of June’s Word was Authority will increase through openness, and stability will be formed under pressure. As I make an open confession, I write this blog. I am way behind my deadline for submission. If it makes the light of day, it will be due to the grace of the editing team and the overseers of the iConvergence team to approve the submission.

So, I am going to take Michael Jackson’s advice, and I am starting with the man in the mirror. I’m changing my ways, to stay committed to the good work Christ has started in me. In July there is a sense of completion coming our way!

I am relying on the Words posted in these blogs to be true! I trust my character is being developed to complete my commitment in writing this blog and walk it out.

This is not about me as much as it is about the All Faithful One, who begins a good work… Will complete that work! Because God is a Covenant Keeping God!

A Time of Reflection as I Look in the Mirror

I am usually pretty good at keeping my commitment, but I really had been messing up on this one to write this blog. I committed a couple of months back to writing it but kept putting it off for no real reason. Like many who are in a season of transition, I am aware of the refining, surrender and strengthening going on. My body is definitely going through some changes. I have lost weight; my natural strength is somewhat diminished, some mental fogginess, and tendency to be a bit crabby, one side of the mirror.

But I am also noticing an inner strength to persevere even though my body is not feeling at its best. Seeing that there is a purpose to this good works process. The prophetic encouragement in these blogs couples with the promises of God that have set forth a future that is worth pushing into, as I reflect in the mirror to complete my assignment.

When I start to question my identity and purpose/assignment in this day and time, I perceive one side of the mirror, then some unprompted person shares with me how they see me and what impact I have made in their life or someone they know. I begin to reflect in the Mirror again and realize God and I have accomplished some things. That encouragement helps to reinforce some of my identity and purpose I have gotten a hold of.

As a turning point with God, Like I mentioned, I wasn’t keeping to my commitment/covenant of writing this blog. I was also riding a roller coaster ride of one moment being full of confidence in God, and then feeling like a worm! Then I heard a message from my Pastor about the Dynamic, personal relationship that Moses had with God. This message was about how Moses dared to ask God strong and direct questions about decisions He had made about destroying the people of Sodom and how the Egyptians would think about that. Especially after He had rescued them.

Isaiah 1:18 KJV “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

I said to myself, I wanted to be like Moses. He not only wanted to know God but wanted to know God’s ways. One of God’s ways is taking to us -- through and beyond the Cross. Then I remembered I had an open vision while sitting in the Church of the Nations in the Garden of Gathsemine while I was in Israel back in 2007. In the vision I saw a cross piercing through a crown, then it went down through the Star of David. The cross turned into a sword. As I sat there weeping, I heard a voice say “Michael, this is the way All men must go!”

I then made a decision – It’s Go Time

So, like Christ, I decided to go to my Cross and like Moses to have a Dynamic personal relationship that meant asking God strong and direct questions. Questions about my purpose/assignment: what I was doing right, what I was doing wrong, how did I see things right, how did I see things wrong, how did I see myself correctly or incorrectly, how did I see others correctly or incorrectly.

(One Side of the Mirror, the Reflection of the other Side)

I thanked Him for answering my questions and I felt I had accomplished something as I reminded myself through my Pastor’s message that He wants a Dynamic, personal relationship with me. Finally, I sensed this is the process God was taking me through in June and was bringing me (us) to places of Completion, Accomplishment, and Inner Strength in July.

These areas of completion are especially for bringing stability for the rest of the year, and onwards.

Which brings me back to the Covenant and Promise of God…

Philippians 4:13 KJV "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"

July’s Prophetic Word

July is about Completion, Accomplishments, and Inner Strength. July carries a sense of completion and accomplishments. What began earlier in the year settles into place.

There is inner strength, rest without stagnation, and continued clarity of direction.

Momentum continues with confidence and resolve.

Unquenchable Fire and Momentum!

July’s Prophetic Challenge

Like Paul said to Timothy, war a good warfare with the Prophetic Words spoken over your life!

Take some Selah time, stop, and think about what you encountered from the beginning of the year up to and through June.

Write down what changed in Refinement, Surrender and Strength you experienced.

Then compare what you found to His promise of Completion, Accomplishments and Inner Strength coming in the month of July.

Be like Moses and have that Dynamic, personal relationship with God and ask Him those strong, direct questions about how He sees you reflected in His image.

Know that what remains was strengthened through Unquenchable Fire and that Momentum has been built to bring even more clarity of direction!

May the Journey of change be beautiful
